On 2010-01-01, I changed most of my photos to private, due to certain undesirable websites posting or linking my copyrighted images without my permission. If I have not already changed you from "contact" to "friend," just ask me. Right now, you can only see me, my dogs, landscapes, and some odds and ends, unless I've marked you as "friend" or "family." For now, my photos are still in their groups/pools, and still searchable at Flickr. David

Soy americano de California, y mi esposa es purepecha, indigena de Michoacan, Mexico. Vivimos en Nuevo Mexico. A veces trato de ser artista, pero y mi propósito primario es mantener una historia de nuestra familia. Pongo fotos aqui para que puedan mirarlas nuestros familiares, pero me alegre que otras personas han visto fotos que les gustan.

I'm American, from the San Francisco and Monterey Bay areas in California. My wife is P'urhépecha from Michoacan, Mexico. In 2007 we moved from Santa Cruz, California to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Most of my photos are candid snapshots, and while some are my attempts at art or humor, my main purpose is to photo-document our family history, but that includes our dogs, vacation shots, local scenes, posed but informal portraits, etc.

I originally posted on Flickr so our friends and families can see our photos more easily, but I'm pleased when other people enjoy our work. Most are mine, but various photos were shot by other family members, and I credit them when we know who shot what.

I got my BA in anthropology at University of California, Santa Cruz, and I'm interested in indigenous and colonized peoples, especially Native Americans. Because of my family, I have a special interest in the P'urhépecha people.
