I haven't added many photos yet, I have quite a few from the "old days" that I need to scan, but first I need find them again amongst boxes that have remained unopened through my numerous removals, so it might take a while... I have also recently acquired a digital camera, which makes things so much easier, but just haven't had much time to get out of my routine recently or many opportunities to take photos.

I like to take photos of my friends or places I've been to or things I've seen which retained my attention but I am certainly no photographer (sorry for the poor quality of some shots). I enjoy looking at other people's photos even more. The photos I like best are those of walls, buildings, rainy landscapes and things that make me smile.

More generally...
I like water, rivers, lakes, the sea, etc, and I have a worrying obsession with rain (I can't believe I managed to go that far without mentioning rain).
I like cities, walls, streets, buildings, alleyways, roads, bridges.
I like the juxtaposition of many different layers of history in the city.
I like to travel on trains or buses.
I like the countryside and desolate landscapes.
I like cats, moles, lizards, porcupines and animals in general...

People are more complicated, there's many of them who I dislike, even more of them who I don't even know, some of them who I like, and a few of them who I probably like(d) too much.

Over the years, whenever I was hurt or disappointed by people, I've always found solace in the rain and the streets of Montpellier, Edinburgh / Leith, or London. Walls have never let me down.

I like music, a lot, and I am actually lucky that my job and most of my life revolve around music... Sometimes it becomes too much though... I spend most of my time in a live music venue so any escape from that is always refreshing... I like to believe the rain and the city will protect me from insanity.

I also like to read and write. I have a blog at raphaelburden.wordpress.com except it's not quite ready yet, so pop again soon (I need to get around to transferring the contents from various other places, but in the meantime bits can be found in the bloggy bit on myspace).
