"Rae Threnoworth, Newcastle's Emerging Artist winner for 2008, grew up in Western Australia where the long stretches of white sandy beaches and rugged coastline fuelled her love for the ocean."
Since leaving TAFE in 2004 with my Advanced Diploma in Photography, I didn't pick up a camera for over a year as I delved deeper into my love of surfing. This time away from the lens deepened my passion not only for surfing, but for the ocean, the earth and my new found love of travelling. In retrospect it allowed me to break away from the norm & fertilized the soil that grew my love for capturing the beauty of this amazing planet so that others may also visit the world through my eyes.
Photography has become a way for me to step away from the material world and focus purely on the light all around me, doing so allows the light within me to shine even brighter. May you feel a sense of this light and wonder in the world just by looking at my images.
