Aspiring amateur photographer, trying to make the transition from personal snaps to interesting photographs and to overcome left-brain academic nature, developing "vision and imagination" (GS)! Mainly interested in natural portraits (incl. strangers), landscapes and cityscapes. Also macro shots. Very happy to have discovered and been accepted by the friendly, supportive and talented community at Flickr, which I started using naively in December 2008 and more seriously in April 2009. One feature I particularly like about this community is that every photographer I've met is on a learning journey, constantly trying to improve. Need to do more landscape photography...

(Flickr contacts should probably ignore the occasional batches of family, friends, go and work-related photos.)

What I've learned: To take a good sunset shot, you have to get your feet wet! A landscape photographer's most important accessory is a good alarm clock.
