Hello...so good to meet you...

I love and am awed by the complete wonder of our existence and the gift of senses to experience this beautiful, beautiful planet...I do what I can to live a loving, ethical, optimistic, interesting, and exploratory life...

Photos for me can be openings into realms often missed in the clamour and information overload of modern life: they slow me, allow me to pause, and reflect.

Images often SATURATE me with emotions inexpressible in words - though I try when commenting on your photos!

The visceral jolt and flamboyance of the juxtaposition of strong colours and forms, and the calming, meditative effect of gentler, more lyrical ones affect me equally.

Relationships between things, pattern, negative space, tantalising evidence of what lies beyond (and permeates) the material world, and the beauty in everything are of intense interest to me. I'm absorbed by how others experience life via looking at the images they make, and often contemplate all the forces at play in the click of that 'decisive moment'.

Joined Flickr October 26 2007, and have taken most shots with a tiny Sony Cybershot W35 - beautifully portable! Most older dated shots were taken with a (now stolen) Nikon Coolpix 990, and a couple with a newish NikonD200 and Nikkor DX 18-200 lens, neither of which have had much work to date. The lens isn't up to intimate macro shots, so am investigating others. Looking forward to refining my technical skills and learning from your beautiful work so that my photos may please you as much as yours do me.

Finally, thank you for your generous, thoughtful comments. My contact list grows as you tempt me with your wonderful ways of experiencing our planet. If I don't comment on your beautiful images every day, or add you as a contact, please forgive me - my freelance business (writing, editing, graphic design, photography) fills my life with wonderful variety, and I need to work to EAT, and travel and...oh, you know...! (And for complicated reasons, I have only dial-up internet at present - so SLOOOOW..)

warm wishes to you all,

Susie

"This is the first testimonial I've been compelled to write, but I was moved like no other photographer on this site has moved me.

The same unique talent of spatial orientation is tapped into when an artist creates a well-balanced composition (in any medium) and when he or she sketches a realistic portrait. Based on her photostream and fine art skills, I'd say that susie has a learned or innate ability to use postive and negative space with perfection.

Susie's overwhelming talent for creating a composition using the principles and elements of design is impressive. She not only puts passion in the shot but manages to technically nail it too!

However, it wasn't until I read her profile that I decided that a near stranger would be getting my first testimonial. If you haven't read her profile completely, take a minute to. It's a special occasion to find a real bonafide right brainer amongst all those who "technically" master the photography medium but never manage to deliver any heart in their work. Her passion is inspiring. I look forward to seeing more."

Then ....that to say .... ? You are allowed to draw away, catch in an imaginary world in no one else the similar acidulous colours are next to clear-cut colours, to sensuality of flower érotisées forms extremely, pleasures of the table, beauty of landscapes and men who populate his world, love of the nice, love of other one, love of the ancestral, the primary and attraction of the futuristic lines ... all our senses are solicited, greed of eyes, mouth, touch ... with Quillia, you pass of photograph in photograph by all stir which it is allowed to you to feel.
