These are a mix of pictures taken with a 'Canon PowerShot A20' digital camera, a Canon PowerShot A720IS digital camera, and slides scanned with an 'Epson Perfection 2480 photo' scanner. There are also some taken with a relative's Canon EOS 350D camera.

You can usually tell if a photo is from a slide due to the amount of visible dust and scratches it has, although for some of my slides I have tried a bit of editing to reduce this, at least in the skies, where it is obviously not part of the photo. It's quite difficult sometimes - see this one, is it a bird or dirt on the slide? For these photographs I have added "shopped" to the title. I have also cropped the edges of some of my slides, and there is often a decision to be made on whether to crop them to preserve the most width or height. I hope I've been successful with that. There are many more scanned slides still to upload (and more slides still to scan) but the editing takes so long...

I have now upgraded to a pro account. I'm in the process of uploading the rest of my digital photos and scans to flickr, for backup purposes. TIFFs I have uploaded have a thumbnail in the top left corner for some reason, I'd be glad if someone told me why! I have replaced the one below, but you may be able to find others.

As part of my process I now check whether the file name can be found as a title on my photostream, and if it can't, if it's a JPEG and doesn't need editing place it in Flickr Uploadr. If it can't and it's a TIFF, or a JPEG that does need editing, open it in an image editor, edit it if necessary to crop it and remove dust and scratches, save it as a 100 quality JPEG, and place this in Flickr Uploadr.

Please note that the dates of the slides are mostly completely wrong. The cameraphone dates are wrong as well. However, a few slides which I scanned individually (later than the rest) had the month and year of processing printed on them, which I have added to flickr. The times of photos taken with the digital camera are more reliable, but may be off by an hour or so.

I also am the administrator of some flickr groups:

Zakynthos (an Ionian Island of Greece). Get yours at flagrantdisregard.com/flickr
I started Zakynthos, Ionian Islands, Greece because there weren't any groups for the island and I had a some nice photos of it.

Mountains and beauties. Get yours at flagrantdisregard.com/flickr
I didn't actually start Mountains and beauties, I inherited it. I was the longest present member when the administrator left the group/flickr. The description suggests anything beautiful, but I've only seen photos of mountains and landscapes in the pool. Feel free to add yours.

Whitby (a town in North Yorkshire, England). Get yours at flagrantdisregard.com/flickr
I visit Whitby annually for Folk Week, so I was disappointed that there wasn't a group for it. Since then someone has created another group for Whitby, Whitby Central, dedicated to the weather experienced in Whitby. There are also now some other groups for Whitby, but at least mine is still by far the most popular, for which I would like to thank the members of my Whitby group.

North Yorkshire Coast. Get yours at bighugelabs.com/flickr
I recently created this group for the photos in the Whitby, North Yorkshire, UK pool of other places on the North Yorkshire Coast. It's just getting started, so please join and add yours!
Lord Nelson. Get yours at bighugelabs.com/flickr
I created this group to share some additional photos from a voyage I was on with the Jubilee Sailing Trust's Lord Nelson (voyage 664 from Hartlepool to Edinburgh), but any photos of this ship are now welcome.

I am a volunteer with the Coast and Countryside Volunteer Rangers, who do countryside tasks on Wednesdays on the coast in the east of Durham. You may have noticed photographs in my photostream of these tasks. I now join them on alternate Wednesdays. There is information about them on the Durham Heritage Coast website.

Here is a shortened version of a video which I created for the Durham Heritage Coast website explaining what they do:
