Retired early to get away from the stress that surrounds us all. Lived in Swansea in South Wales but longed to get into the countryside. When my huusband retired we moved to a small Herefordshire England village and have never looked back. I would say to anyone dubious about moving when you are older....just go on and do it.....you know yourself whether its what you really want. Small house, so less cleaning and much warmer with smaller bills. Big cats to fill the small house.
I love craft work of all sorts plus photography, cooking, reading and watching all the birds and animals that visit. When we go to a large town now I realize why I was so ill. Noise, pollution, crime and the pace of life thats expected of you. It has taken a number of years to slow down and I am so sad at the number of people who are living out stressful lives. There are always alternatives.It is just hard to spot them sometimes. We spend much less and have made friends who do lots for each other, that didn't happen in the city. I hope this doesn't make me sound boring because I have no intention of ever growing up. Yes I am the one who sings to her cats and talks to her hedgehogs. I'm sorry for the people who miss out on being themselves because they feel they have to impress others. The worst thing for me would be to be thought of as mean and I dislike anyone who is. It usually comes with a mean soul.
