Hi there and welcome to my area on Flickr. My name is Brian and I reside in the City of Vancouver, BC on the west coast of Canada. I work in the film industry as a props and greens person permittee (IATSE 891). This explains my username of ‘Punk Props”. And yes, I do enjoy listening to punk rock.
I started photography as a hobby around 1991. A few years later I delved into the media world with it and came away with some great experiences. Currently, I do not work in media, but still try to get out and photograph local concerts or events when I have the time.
When time and wealth allow, I LOVE to travel! I consider Barbados a second home as I have been there too many times to count. As I have a girlfriend from Mexico, this country is quickly overtaking Barbados as my secondary home. No complaints there!
Back in 1996, I had bought a beaten up, old video camera. You couldn’t really call it a camcorder as this Sanyo was gigantic and took Hi-8 tapes. Being such a hardcore photographer, I found it too difficult to balance the 2 visual formats, and photography won out. Now, 12 years later, I have dropped the stills camera and donned a camcorder (a Canon HF-S10). My first footage is from the rural Mexican town of Tierra Blanca in Guanajuato State. I am in process of editing this (a whole new learning curve) in order to a small video together. I will be adding clips along the way as it is completed.
