PUMA Ocean Racing is PUMA's entry into the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-2009. This sailing team is skippered by American Ken Read and has an international crew of 10 sailors, plus one onboard media director.

PUMA Ocean Racing is sailing on a Volvo Open 70 named il mostro, after a popular PUMA shoe. With its red and black hull, and red sails, the PUMA boat is not your typical yacht!
