Just some Flickr FYI- if you add me as a contact, I'll add you as one. If I know you from somewhere else, even better! (and you could throw me a message and let me know, if your name here isn't similar enough to your name elsewhere). Because I like to know who I'm stalkin-... I mean, friends with.

I started the 365days Self-Portrait project on February 14, 2010. So, I'm now on year two and haven't (yet) missed a day.

Spouse of a disabled veteran, mom to three kids who are all grown (22, 19, 18 years old). Underwent total knee replacement surgery at age 39 (March 18, 2009). We have five dogs (German Shepherd and four Chihuahuas) and four cats.

My interest in photography can be blamed on my parents giving me a "Disc Camera" when I was thirteen years old. I took photos of everything, everywhere. In high school, I took a photography class (using a Nikon 35mm and black and white film) and there are things I learned that I still use today- though some things are incredibly easier because of digital cameras and photo editing programs. I'm a former Army brat-then-wife. I grew up on Army bases in Missouri and Alaska (then lived in North Carolina, Kansas, and Georgia as an Army wife).

I dress in garb and go to renaissance faires. I'm friends with many jousters from Hanlon-Lees Action Theater. I help admin on three of their Facebook fan pages, but I share my photos on all of them. (I cheer for the bad guys, though!).

I write a blog about my husband's disability- he suffered a massive stroke at age 28 (April 13, 1995). I started the blog on Christmas Eve 2009. "Conversations with the Disabled Guy"


This is the favorite of all my photos, so far. The shot was completely accidental. I was in my yard taking photos of tiny mushrooms in macro. When I walked back up to my house, I saw this tiny begonia bloom on the step. I leaned over, without looking at my camera's screen, and snapped the photo. I didn't see it till I uploaded it on the computer. This is not enhanced in any way (though I do have some digital lomography versions).
