For over 25 years it has been my privilege to lead groups of people outdoors on a variety of hikes, backpacks and camping trips. And yes, you can imagine I've garnered quite a collection of photographs along the way. I'm not trying to compete with the top-notch landscape photographers posting here, but maybe I can offer a perspective that might speak to the exploring spirit--hopefully yours. I want to take you along and show you things--some familiar and some rarely seen--and tell you about them, so that you can share in the experience of being there.

My unofficial title as hike leader of Creation Safaris for years has been "Chief Bwana." It doesn't give me much honor, since "bwana" in Swahili means little more than "Mister." It's about all the honor I'm likely to get, but I'll take it!

From the tiniest cell to the largest galaxy, creation is awesome at all levels. My Flickr account address is "psa104" because the author of Psalm 104 encapsulated my attitude after listing the wonders of creation: "O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your riches" (v.24). That is why I chose "psa104" as my handle. Another reason is that it complements the handle of my good hiking buddy (and superior photographer), Dave Weber, who has enjoyed many a mile on the trail with me.
