Greetings!
Let me explain: I am not an artist.
When I was a child, I carried a screw-driver in my pocket, in case I came across anything that needed, um, taking apart. When my daughter was a child, she would only eat half her meal so she'd have material for her plate sculptures. Ergo, I am an engineer, she is an artist. Having said that, I do have a right-brain, and it wants to come out to play.
I am just picking up the camera again after a long hiatus. Most of my previous work has been landscape, a hard habit to break. (Olympus OM-1/2, Zuiko 50mm, 28mm, various tele's.)
Now, however, I've become very interested in portraiture, something I've not done much of. Flickr is chock full of genius in this regard, so I'm having a great time exploring. Thanks to you all for sharing!
I currently use a Nikon D70, Canon S90, Olympus OM-2 and an iPhone, not necessarily in that order. :-)
The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking - and looking.
