The Saint Joseph’s High School building, formerly known as Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic College for Boys, at 760 Merrimack Street was a parochial school building constructed in 1892. The school was closed in the 1990s and was briefly utilized by Catholic Charities as a local food pantry. The building was sold in 2007 to the Coalition for a Better Acre, a non-profit community development corporation that plans to convert the building into 22 units of affordable housing utilizing state and federal historic tax credits and low-income tax credits.
