My name's Amanda and I have a daily need to craft to stay sane! In addition to being a struggling jewelry maker I also (struggle to) manage a small home enterprise, conduct behavioural modification training programmes, actively manage a small investment fund and undertake regular counselling sessions ................... OK OK I am a SAHM with a three year old toddler! But I used to be ........


I craft to keep myself sane in and around my housekeeping/parenting/spousal duties (when do I find the time???). I use primarily silver plated or brass wire, with dalliances into copper, sterling silver and fibre. I love glass - beach glass, fused glass, dichroic glass, beads, pendants ........ and so on. I have been known to take apart jewelry items and repurpose them, in this way I have rescued countless of my own jewelry pieces and now wear the best bits of them as a charm bracelet. I'm also lashing out into polymer clay and am saving up to buy a decent toaster oven so I can stop poisoning the family ! I love fibre, crochet, knitting and embroidery and am in constant search for the ultimate portable craft to carry around with me on all my preschooler play trips (check out my progress on my portable crafting blog).
