For more than 50 years Wisconsin artists George and Nan Pollard have been successfully painting and illustrating–George concentrating on portraits in charcoal and oil, while Nan illustrated children's books for many publishers.

They have portrayed many people that they would have never been fortunate enough to meet under other circumstances–people such as Pope John Paul II, Supreme Court Justice William H. Renquist, Muhammad Ali, Mother Teresa, Presidents Harry S. Truman and John F. Kennedy and Wisconsin favorites, Governor Lee Sherman Dreyfus, Bart Starr and Brett Favre.
