Leonie's photostream is so quiet and meditative, yet slyly powerful ... Her shadows aren't just the flat graphic lines of so many photographs, nor even empty black negative space. For me, the substance of her images so often resides within the darkness - the subtly different tones of dark on dark, and the intricately recorded details therein. Her palette is so restrained that I get a huge hit from the slightest little shots of colour. Exploring her images is a visceral, as well as an emotional, experience. I am full of admiration."
