Paulette Mertes' photostream  

I'm a portrait photographer by trade and own a studio in West Hartford, CT. (Paulette Mertes Studios). I'm originally a Chicago girl (and will always be - in my heart). I started out in photojournalism and worked at a daily newspaper for a number of years. I entered portrait photography about 15 years ago. My passion has always been nature photography but my interests have broadened over the years to include a variety of subject matter.

I've been a flickr memvber for a few years, now, and I'm really glad I joined - it has re-awakened in me the desire to make more time for myself and to be more creative with my camera.

I've seen so many talented photographers and so many beautiful images on flickr - it's been quite an inspiration. I thank all of you for that.

August 15, 2011 -

I just bought out my business partner and changed the name of my studio. I'm on a different path now and extremely busy trying to rebuild my business. My time on flickr has been replaced with time I need to spend on my business. I miss everyone but just don't have the time right now. Hopefully I will be back soon.
