Began photography with home darkroom in a closet and an old rangefinder. That was a lo-o-ong time ago, and it finished up when I finally graduated to a used Nikon F and a better darkroom. I don't have professional aspirations--didn't then, don't now--but I like self-learning and always want to try something different. It never gets old if you don't stop experimenting.

I use a D80 now with Lightroom, and I don't miss the smell of hypo in the morning at all. I use photography to be personally creative. It's important, but it's not my life, and that's what makes it work for me.

I mostly like Flickr as a place to see other people's images, to get ideas from and to improve my own eye by thinking about why I love some images--some of what people do here takes my breath away--and hate others (if you're into sentimental cliche's, get away from me as far as you can go).
