I'm a self-taught hobby photographer. My first kit was circa '79 - a Kodak instamatic X-15f with the rotating flash cube, then in 2004 I bought an Olympus 5.0 megapixel digital camera which was quite the upgrade. Then my interest for photography grew while birding and experimenting with digiscopng for ID purposes. In the winter of 2008, I purchased my Canon Rebel XTI, which I've had since Feb '08.

I enjoy many aspects of the outdoors - cycling, cc skiing, canoeing, gardening and birding. So I try to be prepared for photo opportunities when out and about. During the day, I'm an exercise physiologist.

My favorite type of phototgraphy is outdoor/nature photography. I also enjoy capturing sports and people.

My kit includes:
- Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTI
- Canon 50 mm f/1.8 II fixed lens (my fav)
- Canon 28-90 mm f/4-5.6 zoom lens
- Canon 90-300 mm f/4.5-5.6 zoom lens
- Canon ET-60 Lens hood
- Canon remote shutter release
- Velbon monopod
- 3-lens filter kit
- 4GB speedy compact flash data card
- A Crumpler "7 million dollar bag" keeps it all safe.
