I am a photographer/marketing consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area who started one of the first sports blogs online in 1998, sharkspage_com. I am also a freelance photographer covering hockey, boxing, and MMA in California at inphotography_com, along with a handful of other amateur and professional sports.

Favorite sporting event I have photographed to date has been the World Amateur Sumo Championship at Madison Square Garden. 16 very large sumo wrestlers, over 40 bouts, and a very enthusiastic New York crowd. Other highlights include the NHL, Tour de France, Tour of California, San Jose Grand Prix, NY Marathon, and the Mavericks Big Wave Surfing Competition. A small portfolio of my work is available here.

In April Nikon selected me as one of the bloggers for their Nikon "Picture This" d80 campaign. I have volunteered with youth athletics and teaching technology to kids for close to 10 years, and have been involved in digital and film photography for 18 years, since I first tried a Nikon camera in high school at 16.

I have 6 brothers and 1 sister. My brother Mike is a sports agent in LA working along with my brother Mark, and my brother Peter just returned from mixed martial arts training in South Korea. My brother Chris is a software analyst in NYC and can be seen occasionally on CNBC. My brother Skip has been a soccer coach in Florida, and my brother John has swam to Alcatraz in the San Francisco Bay, as well as participated in the ocean version of the Bay-to-Breakers marathon multiple times (without a wetsuit). My sister Michelle has run a marathon as part of the Team in Training program to raise money for charity and will travel to South America for the third time in the fall.
