(Pittsburgh-UNITED) is an alliance of local community, faith and labor organizations promoting a progressive, inclusive, development agenda through research, organizing, education and advocacy. Pittsburgh-UNITED was established in January of 2007 by UNITE-HERE, the Sierra Club, SEIU, the PA Housing Alliance, the League of Young Voters and the Mon Valley Unemployed Committee. It is funded, in part, by local and national foundations through the Pennsylvania Fulfilling the Dream Fund. The fund was established to identify tools for ensuring that economic development policies benefit the historically disadvantaged in society. Pittsburgh-UNITED as a part of the national PARTNERSHIP FOR WORKING FAMILIES network will support and organize campaigns to win "Community Benefit Agreements (CBAs)" to advance that goal.
