Dividing my time between my country home and city studio, I have been decorating the fine city of Halifax with my images since 2003. While completing my degree at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, under the mentorship of conceptual artist Gary Neil Kennedy, I developed a technique of carving photographs to reveal a graphic image. This later became known as “cut-ups”. In addition to my visual arts I also have a never ending desire to be crafting and creating beautiful, colourful decorations for our bodies and homes. My materials of choice being found objects and flea markets finds. Other passions include knitting and stitching. As a young girl my grandmother passed on many skills that I then used to occupy my time making little creatures and their worlds. To this day I still continue to create little beings. In the last year I've taken up dry felting, starting first with little animals, the end result being a magical clan of colourful, articulate, little people. I'm planing to eventually do a picture book series starring my lovely crew, teaching valuable morals and an appreciation and respect for the beautiful earth we live on.
