I started posting one picture a day (PAD) on Flickr when I moved to Switzerland in December 2005 as a creative project. This is my statement from then:

"sometimes i try to be more creative, sometimes i want to capture a feeling or memory, mostly i just try to capture things that i happen across in my day to day life. committing oneself to a photo a day is my way of maintaining at least a little bit of creativity in my life. i need it like i need air and water."

Since then, I became pregnant, bought a DSLR to congratulate myself and things have just grown from there really. By taking pictures of my own little angel and sharing I have found myself the proud owner of a Photography business. One year down the line I have lots more equipment and many more thousands of images. The PAD fell to the wayside for a while and was replaced in 2008 with pictures of my daughter Maia (this is still not complete even though the images are on a hard drive somewhere!). Now it's 2009 and I hope to keep my business growing, try to take more everyday pictures like I used to take (I love the kiddy pictures, but I miss my abstract observations) and have fun learning as much as I can, oh and more importantly, putting it into practice!

I absolutely love Flickr and want to thank all contributors for continuing to inspire me and being part of such a beautiful and creative playground. it makes my world a better place to live in. and there is so much i still haven't seen!! :)

p.s. I also knit and the biggest knitting/crochet group ravelry.com exclusively uses Flickr as it's photo storage, so there are quite a lot of snaps used there.
