I used to use photography primarily as an adjunct to my painting, as reference material. Now, thanks to JoelDeluxe I'm addicted to it again. I seem to be photographing everything. Most are not very good, but I do get a good shot in now and then. The old adage of 100 pics generates 1 good shot is still amazingly true. I seem to be taking this back up as a hobby again.

I primarily use a Cannon Digital Rebel XT with an EFS 60mm Macro lens, a 50mm "Fiddy", a 55-200mm telephoto lens, and my primary lens is an EF 28-135 1:3.5-5.6 IS Portrait/Zoom lens. I'm loving being digital now, intstead of being limited by film. I guess I live too much in the age of instant gratification. And with 8 gigs of cards, I can shoot till my hearts content.

When I'm feeling particularly artsy fartsy I'll pull out my Minolta X-370 or Kodak Signet 35. Yes, folks, these are FILM cameras. I learned to shoot on the Minolta, and it is still my first love. The Kodak is an antique, and a gift from my Grandfather, but it takes AMAZING shots (when I can get it to work, and when I can work it). The Kodak is complex, but WOW was I impressed with the test roll that I shot on it.

While I used to make my living as a Graphic Designer, I'm leaning more to the photographic side now. My creative influences include:

I have my ACE certification in Photoshop 6, and am currently using Photoshop CS2. If I had the time and money I'd upgrade my certification, so from time to time I'll post something that I've played with in PS.
