I am a classical pianist who loves to travel the world and perform. I like to take photos and make videos, meet people, enjoy strong coffee in interesting places, and leave my comfort zone.
I would like to know you!
I posted a segment of my Debussy documentary:

Photos open a world of magic, imagination, and mystery.
I remember when I got the Minolta x-370 and was fascinated with capturing the moment, frozen in time, in a way which documented but also transcended the reality. It is infectious, and remains a great passion.
Taking photos transforms the spirit, enchants the imagination, and can be a unique communication with others. We all bring something to our photos, good and bad, and create a glimpse into our own inner world.
I post Canon HV20 HD videos and shots from 4 cameras:
Nikon D90
Nikon D40:
24mm f2.8 AI-S lens fully manual
35mm f1.8 lens
50mm f1.8 lens
55mm f1.2 AI lens fully manual
55-200mm lens
Ricoh R8:
1:1 ratio @7 megapixels, 7X Zoom
Canon Powershot A520
I like square format.
I love film.
I am working on documentary films about the composer Claude Debussy the contrasts between old and new in Tokyo
I grew up in this idyllic place, Cayuga Heights in Ithaca, NY. I think it helps explain my love of beauty:

"Tony has been a critical influence on my developing photography skills--and he is a source of frequent inspiration. I am always impressed by how he finds fantastic beauty in the smallest details, especially in his meditative city-night depth-of-field and bokeh compositions. Aside from his great talent, Tony has remained a sharp and generous teacher. He recognizes and nurtures the social aspect of the artistic process, and he demonstrates an authentic love of the art and of sharing his technical knowledge with others. To me, Tony reflects best the vibrant spirit of Flickr."

"I've only known Tony/ –tradewinds•> for a short time online, but have been impressed with his artistry and great sites. I'd love to hear a piano recital someday. I imagine he is even more of an artist on the keyboard."

"Inspiring.
This is the word I would use for his photostream.
ALL of his photos are outstanding - but personally, I find his Tokyo sets the most interesting. I have taken 4 trips there in the last 2 years. If I look at his photos, I feel like I am THERE. They are so representative of the REAL Tokyo.
All I want to do after seeing his stream is go out and start taking pictures myself! One of the best on Flickr."16th March, 2010

This man is a natural with film, photos and his kick a$$ piano playing.
I find him to be incredibly insightful and an all around creative mind.
I'm inspired by his vision through photography and his piano playing interpretations and skills.
Tony remains a true scholar, visionary and a great appreciater of the musical/visual arts.
I'm thankful in meeting this gentle and creative soul."2nd September, 2009

❄. says:
"If one believes in the quote "No man was ever great without divine inspiration", then Tony aka -tradewinds-> is truly a giant in greatness due to his ability to inspire others through various medium that he excels in: music, photography, videogrpahy, words and in thoughts.
Yet, "No really great man ever thought himself so." Despite his talent, fame, worldly knowledge, situational awareness and vast experiences - Tony remains at heart and in actions one of the most natural person I've ever met.
I've known Tony for a relatively short period of time. But his wholesomely transparent character; kind and genuine approach to matters; and simple sincerity makes him as though the guy from next door that you've known for decades. I heard he makes a wicked coffee (not sure about changing the lightbulb or fixing the pipe part though).
Having said so, Tony is also a complex character which I shall leave you the readers to acquaint yourself with over the course of your friendship with him."24th January, 2009
