Allen Maestas is a native New Mexican, born and raised in Albuquerque. The art of photography has always been an interest in his life, beginning in early adulthood, though did not fully materialize as a serious passion until relatively recently.

Allen is a self-taught digital photographer who is always seeking strategies and techniques to further grow as an artist. He has also worked hard in developing his skills to process his photographs with the use of image editing software. In all of his work, he maintains the delicate balance of enhancing the beauty of the image through his artistic perspective, while keeping the image natural, as to share the innate beauty of the moment when it was first captured.

Earth’s natural beauty, as photographed through landscapes, remains Allen’s primary genre for his work. The experience of traveling, finding just the right spot and capturing the precise moment are all components that keep Allen excited and so passionate about this intricate art form.

In the past few years, he has started to share his work with others through various means, including photography forums, local venues, donations to the community and competitions. He has had good success which often times come when least expected. Through both his website and a positive reputation, parties from national organizations as well as from around the state have contacted him directly to request the use of his work.

Allen hopes that this type of success continues, however, most importantly, that he is able to share his love of photography and the beauty of nature with a wide audience. He is grateful to have the opportunity to photograph and experience the glory of nature. It is evident through his works that New Mexico truly is the Land of Enchantment.
