I'm a paramedic and self-defense instructor who likes to take pictures. I'm not a very good photographer, but in my defense I didn't get a camera I like using until well into my adulthood. Believe it or not, it was a Polaroid using 500 film. I got fairly decent at aiming it without the viewfinder, and discovered my pictures were better with conversation going on. I went from there to the Sony Cybershot DSC-F717, which is still a decent camera and I try and get some use out of it from time-to-time. I now have a Canon EOS 30D, which I still have to grow into...

In addition to liking photography, I like to figure out how to dress my home. I rarely build anything myself, and when I do it's because I can't find the design already in existence or I have and it's ridiculously priced. Some of my own concepts get found in books and magazines years later with credit given to the person who had whatever it is one needs in order to say "Hey, this could sell."

I have a few friends on here, and I dare say they are much better photographers than I am. They are also way too nice to say that themselves.

I'm good with receiving constructive criticism, but I find that most people think they're giving constructive criticism when they're voicing their opinions - that's not how it works. Constructive is the operative word in the term - if it isn't meant to teach, help or build (i.e. confidence), then please keep it to yourself.

I'm currently off work due to an injury related to a motorcycle accident, so I'll be looking at your stuff a fair bit... Thanks a lot for sharing it.
