I'm a physics professor at Ithaca College. I am also a trained archaeologist. I use radar, magnetics, and other instruments to make pictures of things beneath the ground without digging.
My only intentional photographic subjects are lighthouses. I like the adventure of finding them...this often involves going some place I wouldn't ordinarily go.
I consider myself a happenstance photographer. Contrast and composition usually catches my eye first. The photograph presents itself to me and I just acknowledge the relationship by pressing the shutter button.
