In recognition and appreciation of my mentor for the last 3 years, Thomas Miles McFarlane 1947-2008. God rest his soul.

Photoreciprocity

"The images I capture through the lens are just that.....images, until the viewer looks and thinks about my work. The perception of that viewer creates a relationship of mutual dependence, action, or influence on the interpretation of my work. It is this reciprocity that changes my images into art." I call this Photoreciprocity

Raised in Asheville, in the mountain of Western North Carolina, I became passionate about photography as a teenager. Since then I've explored several different means of capturing and producing photographs in both film and digital forms. After college I put photography aside and focused on a career in Corporate America. Working mostly in the Banking Industry, I decided to return to photography and renew my focus to better hone my craft. A self taught photographer, I draw inspiration from the works of Tom McFarlane, Keith Carter O. Winston Link, and Helmut Newton.

My current body of work consist of images with assigned one word titles and associated note. These photos are metaphors for the notes/ideas therein.

"michael's photographs are highly original and full of passion.

I am very impressed by his stream, and the fact that he does not upload thousands of photos as others on flickr do, speak for the quality of each of his masterpieces.

I am looking forward to every gem he will upload."

Each image is perfectly captured to meet Michael's standards and always leaves the viewer craving more. To him, I say thanks!"

"His photos are fresh and fulled with emotion.
just by looking at one of his photo can make you feel something tingle deep inside.

Some of the photos he takes are so hard to achieve. he shows that he has a great imagination and has the ability to put it into action.
    great job keep it up=D"

"To see the world differently and to be able to capture that difference in a photograph is surely a powerful ability. What I have seen of Mike's photography exemplifies this trait. I look forward to seeing more of his striking and beautiful images."

"I know I've mentioned this at least indirectly, but I really have to express my 'wow' to your recent changes in both style and substance. I'm very impressed by your work, not only in terms of quality and processing but also in taste and refinement of your subjects. Beautiful, complex images. I look forward to seeing each and every one.
