At first, my love of photography came from standing in front of the camera, rather than behind it. But, by age eight I was desperately trying to use my mother’s Kodak camera every chance I got, as I would constantly see great images that needed to be captured. I received my first camera at age ten, a miniature spy camera, which was fun, but not very reliable. By the time I reached high school I was able to afford my first Nikon 35 mm film camera. And, by my freshman year of college, I was beginning to get the hang of photography and composing shots rather than just pointing and shooting.

I own an antique Zeiss Icarex SLR, a Nikon N65 SLR, and after many years of debate I finally bought a Nikon Digital SLR D80 and couldn't be happier. Digital photography has increased my passion for this craft ten-fold. I hope by creating both a Flikr account and photo blog I can grow as a photographer, meet others who have the same interests in photography, and motivate myself to begin my own photography business. My dream is to one day show the world these images that I have been seeing all my life. It wouldn’t bother me in the slightest if I could make some money doing it as well. I’ve always dreamed of being both a writer and a photographer, and my ultimate goal is to become a photo journalist.
