I just follow my instincts, I love what I do.
Which is to say, I don't shoot weddings. Not ever.

Hong Kong Photographic says:
"Ray is among my photographic influences; when inspired he is capable of producing images of pure genius (take his "Waxwings Gorging on Berries", for instance).
Ray has an excellent eye and often helps me improve my work by pointing out flaws in my designs, although sometimes I have to poke him with a stick to get him to be critical.
In short, I trust his judgement because he knows how to connect with his subjects, and that's what photography is all about."14th June, 2009

neutralhills says:
"The first time I went on a photo outing with Ray I frantically raced around looking for all of the types of images that I had seen other photographers make and that I wanted to make as well. While I was busy racing in circles, Ray had parked his Coolpix 990 over a leaf he found on the sidewalk and was working it.
I mean REALLY working it.
When we compared our images later on I had a bunch of mediocre images that I felt I was obliged to create, but that I had no real connection to. Ray, on the other hand, had some freakin' fantastic photos of his damned leaf.
Ray, more than any other photographer, was the one who not only taught me to "follow my intrigue" when I'm holding a camera, but that I should open my eyes and really look at the world around me, right down to the smallest detail, or leaf. Because in the real world, as with Ray, the Devil is in the details."16th July, 2008
