I am Phil Brown, Photographer, a natural-born citizen of the Republic of Texas, long may she stand free.

I have spent my adult life along the I-35 corridor from San Marcos to Waco.

A graduate of Baylor University with a degree in journalism and French, I have long had a passion for beautiful photography. I received my pictorial baptism during my high-school days in the darkroom producing black-and-white prints for our yearbook, and editing photographs for high-school and college publications.

After years of earning a living in the IT world and raising a couple of kids, I have returned to my creative roots. When the opportunity to join a new artists cooperative in central Texas came along, my wife, Kristy, and I considered it an invitation from heaven to once again pursue my passion.

My photos are now available for sale in businesses in Georgetown, Texas.

As you can see, I love Texas. I love the flowers, landscapes, buildings and history of this great state. I relish every bluebonnet, I love every battle-weary stone in the Alamo, and every dusty trail where our ancestors tamed this land.

I am fascinated by beauty in the ordinary. I love to capture a compelling image out of not-so-compelling surroundings. I want my art to have an 'I wish I had seen that' quality that inspires you. What to some may be a long-unopened door in an abandoned building, to me is a history of life, color, texture and line that I must preserve.

I love people, places and things. I love shiny things, rusty things, faded-paint things, and other-time-other-place things.

If my photograph makes you want to see what I saw, and remember it the way I remember it, I have succeeded.

I completed a course at the TPPA's Texas School of Professional Photography in 2011.

A selection of my photographs is sometimes on display at Cianfrani Coffee Co., a wonderful locally owned coffee shop in Georgetown. You can enjoy the work of various artists as well as a great cup of your favorite brew!
