Born in Stockport in 1981, Phil grew up in Altrincham and then moved to Exmouth in 1997.
In 1999 he went to Birmingham University to study something to do with pipe flow and second differential equations, before eloping to East Africa with 17 young hopefuls and washing out of a bucket for seven months.
He now teaches compound area and linear equations to often unwilling adolescents and lives in a small ginger beard in North London.
He enjoys writing, running, and referring to himself in the third person.
