The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District was established in 1866 to manage the water resources of the Delaware River Basin, and of the Atlantic Coast from New Jersey’s Manasquan Inlet to the southern boundary of Delaware. We serve more than nine million people across portions of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. We also directly support military construction at Dover Air Force Base, Tobyhanna Army Depot and Joint Base McGuire.

The Marine Design Center is co-located with the Philadelphia Distirct. It is the center of expertise and experience for the development and application of innovative strategies and technologies for naval architecture and marine engineering. We provide total project management including planning, engineering, and shipbuilding contract management in support of Corps, Army, and national water resource projects in peacetime, and augments the military construction capacity in time of national emergency or mobilization.
