These are just pics of my family and friends, and our activities and holidays and stuff. Nearly all of them were taken by me, or with my cameras, although I've included a few that I've been gifted by my friends over the years.
Quite a lot of these pics are on facebook already, however the selection here is probably bigger, as I only generally add stuff to facebook for the express purpose of tagging the people in the photos.
I'm loving the geotagging feature of flickr !
In 1989 or thereabouts, I got my first camera, a cheap Kodak which used 110 film. This only lasted about a year before it got wrecked.
I didn't get another camera until June 1996 (my 16th birthday), and to tell you the truth there are almost no photos of me or any of my family during the period from 1991 until 1996.
Anyway, this was just a point-and-click 35mm camera that lasted probably until about 2002 or thereabouts, and after that I used a succession and combination of cheap or borrowed point-and-click cameras and disposible cameras also, often having a couple of rolls on the go at once.
The first digital camera I got was a Casio QV-11, which had no flash, ate through batteries like crazy, and made very small and low-quality images. But it was the cheapest digital camera I could find in 1998 and I wanted to be a super-cool and digital. I really only used it on a few occassions, mostly in 1999. The lifestyle I was living at the time, I couldn't afford the batteries. All photos I took with this are tagged as such, since it doesn't have EXIF data.
I also got a cellphone that takes pictures some time around the end of 2004 or start of 2005. It's only about 0.3 Megapixel. All pics taken with it are tagged "cameraphone".
Anyway, all the old photos (the ones without EXIF data and aren't tagged as being taken on my Casio QV-11 or cameraphone) were put into digital form by taking a photo of them with my current digital camera. Hence all the random reflections and blurriness and so forth on them. I don't have a scanner, but if I do one day in the future, I probably will spend hours scanning in all my photos and will replacing all the ones here.
Anyways, in June 2007 (my 27th birthday) I finally got a proper digital camera. Still point-and-click, but 7-odd Megapixels and does a great job. Yay!
