My nationality is Dutch but my heart is in many places and countries of the world.

I like to take photographs and share some of them with others on flickr, not to be in Explore but to show something that I like. To take photographs is my hobby and has been my hobby for many years but I had to take an unexpected long pause when my equipment was stolen, couldn’t replace it and I was to busy with my work. I changed from analogue to digital but still don’t master Photoshop or similar programs but I’m learning. I like to keep my pictures as much as possible “as taken” thus only minor adjustments are made in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and/or Adobe Photoshop CS3. Besides that I take pictures for myself I also photograph a lot related to my work (constructions, re-strengthening and other applications with so called Ultra High Performance Concrete). Some of my work is used for different publications and/or websites. For my work I travel a lot and that gives me the opportunity to take photographs in other countries. My favorite subjects are musicians, dance and theater and people in general. Besides that I like to take pictures of flowers because they are the perfect “models” and that gives me the possibilities to practice with light, angle, focus and distance. I also learned to see much more detail in a flower and how wonderful they are “designed”.

I have a long list with favorite photographers and/or photographers I admire thus I will only mention a few Dutch photographers here: Ed van der Elsken; Patricia Steur; Anton Corbijn; Willem Diepraam; Emmy Andriesse; Cas Oorthuys; Koen Wessing; Cor Jaring and the Dutch – Hungarian photographers Ata Kandó and Eva Besnyö.

If you want to invite me to a group that requires me to fave, bestow an award icon or comment on a certain photo or on photo’s, please don't invite me. I know many people enjoy these types of groups but it takes a lot of my valuable time I like to use to photograph and/or to work on my photographs.

Also, please don't add large graphics, flashy graphics or graphics that link to external sites to comments on my photos.
