My camera goes wherever you cannot,
Companion nestled proxy by my side
To share with you what I see, and to guide
My eyes where yours would go. It lets me spot
Unnoticed corners, oddities unsought.
But scenes I try to capture for you slide
From underneath the lens: the outlines hide
In dullness, or melt into light, when caught.

Don't let this sadden you. It still is true
That you've inhabited all I have seen,
And what I can, I'll offer you. I hold
Your ghost to me, and you hold mine to you,
And ghosts of images that pass between
Bring stories that need only be half-told.
