Artists Statement:
I respond to the political, environmental, personal and sexual natures of man. While I am not a photographer, I wanted to share my artistic work. I have taught for over 13 years with an emphasis on observational drawing and painting.
The images here focus on my work primarily as a painter. I mix media in an effort to fuse the depth of an idea with the language of the materials. I create images through an imagined space but often observe myself or sometimes others to understand the manner in which light and color affect the figure. For the past five years my work has focused on politics in a post 9/11 world. The work ranged from references to airport security, chemical weapons to war and the politics of "fighting for freedom." I guess I try to use logic to digest and think of logical conflict resolution. The work featured here is just a sample of my work. Each Bi-annual show that I produce usually features 30 works, but there were countless "failures....AKA learning expereiences." As artists we must look, aborb and then respond to the world around us. We must know when to edit before exposing every intamacy of what we find captivating. Sensational work does not always linger like poetry. Enjoy.

Men as Art says:
"Keith Perelli’s lyrical vision is well matched by his mastery of brush and medium but in his Flickr stream, it’s the opportunity to watch the coming together of his images that fascinates me most."

noperformance says:
"Keith Perelli's work screams personal, with a blend of master painting talent and formal experimentation, all the while avoiding snarkiness or pulling us out of the earnestness of his imagery. His work can be grossly political without ever being pedantic and humorous without being a simple one-liner. I love that all of his series show extreme growth and an unwillingness to let his subject matter and style become stagnant. Always looking forward to what's coming next."

moon rivers says:
"a touch of dali, a dab of heironymus bosch, some davinci, no less, for that certain flavor, you know, combined with a modern aesthetic, a contemporary vision for a surprise twist, and all rounded with a compassionate and generous eye for his fellows... an extremely rare species indeed.

"Keith Perelli is like the missing link between the renaissances masters and the internet generation, it's wonderful to have an artist of his statue her on Flickr"
