I'm a French free lance Landscape Photographer

A keen landscape photographer for more than ten years, I settled in the north of the Finistere in order to embark on a photographic project about the “wilds of Brittany”. Why Finistere? Quite simply because for me, its coastline is among the most unspoiled and best preserved in France, and it is quite magnificent.

Being from Nantes, I spent much of my childhood exploring the coastline. My mind is filled with images of the coast, and as I did not like swimming, I was attracted to the rocks.

The diversity of the rock formations is a godsend for the photographer. They offer infinite combinations of colour, texture, shape and lines. The rocks in my photos are only a backdrop, a pretext to immortalise a magnificent sun set. They are the essence of the underlying character of a beach, or a creek......the sand, much loved by holiday makers, and caused by the wave erosion.

Of course, to construct an image of the sea you also need water! To make it come alive in the photo , I use long exposure techniques. By controlling the exposure time , I try to bring to the viewer the character of the sea at any one moment.

Equally, I use the perpetual movement of the waves. In my mind I anticipate that movement and the retreat of the waves and tide. Once the tripod is buried in the sand, I centre my feet and wait for the right moment.....

My approach to photography is in keeping (modestly) with Adam Burton (UK) who has greatly inspired me and with whom I share the same love of the sea and the rocks.

I hope you enjoy my work.

    "the Steph,

Well I wont say he is THE best because that would go too much to his head and I don't live close enough to thwack him but he is as close to #1 as he can get and still have me talk to him. :)

If after viewing his photos (and sending him an email asking if he ships overseas) you don't want to move to France and become a beach bum there is something seriously wrong with you. I mean this man takes a beach and makes it glow and shimmer, simmer and pout. Its breathtaking and you should be sitting down before you attempt to view all his work at once. Really. Its that powerful

Now I'm going to finish this up by saying,
"Steph, I adore you and your beaches please continue and may the sea never cease to flirt with you"

now go check him out folks!!
