Just Pen's photostream  

I became interested in photography when I discovered Flickr back in 2005. I was fascinated by all of the amazing pictures I was seeing and really wanted to try to recreate some and have a go myself. I started messing about and taking simple photos with my camera phone and longed for a better camera but had no idea where to start. Move on some four years later (I don't like to rush things!) and I'm about to turn 40. I had arranged a party so that I could celebrate with my lovely friends and family. Much to my surprise, my wonderful, dear and very generous friends and family had made a secret collection for me for my birthday. This was given to me in a hand-made huge 'camera' box (see here www.flickr.com/photos/pen/4228085761/) with the sole intention for me to purchase my dream camera. The collection more than covered the cost of a Canon EOS 500d and here are some of the photos I have since taken (well, the ones after November 2009 anyway). I am still learning and really have no idea what I'm doing but all the same, I'm very much enjoying doing it! I have such lovely friends and collectively they have made one of my dreams come true. I'm a very lucky person.
