Hello! I'm PelicanPete and I love to take pictures! I always have and I always will. I received my first instamatic camera with the flash-cube when I was 10 and I was hooked! I come from a photographic background and upbringing as my father was a professional (master) photographer (now retired), who had a studio in Floral Park, New York. He specialized in wedding photography and did up to four weddings in a weekend. He went on to become president of the L.I.P.P.A. (Long Island Professional Photographers Association) and was also asked to become president of the New York State Photographic Association but declined as he moved our family to Florida when I was 16...38 years ago.
I have traveled the world over the past few decades and would love to share some of these moments in time, with you. I still live in South Florida in the United States of America.
I am not a professional photographer. I have another satisfying career that has been good to me. A career that has kept me comfortable and has allowed me to travel from time to time. My Canon photo equipment is minimal for easier travel experiences.
I do it for the joy of a nice sunset, a cute animal pic, a lovely portrait, or a fantastic landscape. It is only so that I can remember where my life has taken me. I also love a photo that has a story, one that makes you think, one that makes you happy or sad, one that has a beginning, a middle, or an end, or one that just flat out makes you smile! To me this is the "Joy of Photography". I hope you enjoy what I have to offer and I would love to see some of your life as well. Cheers!

Best of luck to you in your life and remember to enjoy the awesome world of photography. Think outside the box. Take your time, give it 110%, be the best that you can be, and remember there is a big difference between a "snapshot" and a "great photo".

My portrait (below) was used by the Government of Guatemala on a poster that was placed throughout their country promoting their heritage. I am honored that they chose it.

My image (below) that I took in Key West, Florida was used for an Italian book cover and was published in February 2011. Title of the book in English: "The Man Who Sold the Sky".
