"I was touched by his honesty ,and standing up for himself to deal with those around him who were unable to accept him as he is. You brought tears to my eyes as I read about you, and your life. You struck me as a wonderful human being!!The kind the world needs TONS more of. For great people are not based on their gender selections, but their gifts they bring that IS them, and only THEM. You have done so in so many ways Arthur!, Via your painting, your spoken words, and your're standing tall through it all!! Judi in S.M., Ca. Thank you for making me FEEL something important again. J."

johnwalford says:
"When I discovered your work, which came about through seeing your icon here and there, and wondering about the photographer behind the icon, it was a moving experience. Your honesty is rare, and your photo work is indeed an extraordinary photo-documentary. Your images of leaves floating on water are poignant, and remind me of much that I love in the world around me, as well as your awareness, which I share, and try to express in my photographs, of our vulnerability and transiency. As for your paintings, you have a creative imagination, and a poetic sense of color.
We may be different in many respects, core beliefs, nationality, education, opportunity, orientation, and who knows what else, but what is so evident is our shared humanity, our feeling for the beauty and fragility of life, as well as its painful sufferings....see my selfportrait as Vincent Van Gogh.
Keep telling us your story, and showing us the world through your eyes. We will all be the richer-if saddened--for it.
My best wishes for 2007, and beyond, John Walford"27th December, 2006
