Cartier-Bresson, Burtynsky, Gursky, Sander, the Bechers, Sudek, Penn, Parr, Shore, Polidori, Brassai, Eggleston, Dijkstra, Weegee, Salgado, Frank, a bunch of Magnum people, and sometimes Uta Barth. Contrasts: artificiality and authenticity. The documentation of individuality and sprawling homogeneous commercialism. The tension between old and new.
