If you know much about me, you know that I really enjoy backpacking and hiking. I also enjoy giving back by volunteering. One way I do that is to maintain trails for organizations like the US Forest Service and the National Park Service through non-profit trail maintenance organizations like the American Hiking Society and Wilderness Volunteers.

In my opinion, you just can’t beat living out of a tent for a week without many of the conveniences of modern life. It breaks life down to the simple things that are so often overlooked. My passions for the outdoors and serving are combined on these service trips, and result in great satisfaction for me.
