Paul Forsdick's photostream
|

A lactose intolerant dairy lover - yet another case of unrequited love.
I am a long-time amateur photographer and gadget freak who also enjoys walking, nature watching, music and film. I spend way too much time in front of a computer screen but at least some of it's productive now I'm using the PC to process images for flickr. ;)
I've been interested in taking photographs since about the age of 11, but only really took it up seriously in the early '90s, when I started getting enough money from my job to enable me to buy decent enthusiast cameras. After messing around with numerous Canon SLRs (T80, A1, EOS 650, EOS 50) and assorted compacts I lost interest for a few years and then bought a series of compact digital cameras and slowly gained some of that interest again. Joining flickr and moving back to SLRs, mainly digital, rekindled my photographic enthusiasm and more recently some nature-heavy holidays have shifted my photographic interest much more towards wildlife and birds.
Many of my photos are now 'record' shots of wildlife and I appreciate these are not going to be great photos but my photostream has always been more a place to post up photos of things I've found interesting than a place just for my best shots. One day I'll make a set of what I think are the 'goodies' but will take a lot of time to sort through the four and a half thousand pics on here!).
NOTE: many thanks to all the people who have commented on my photos over the years, but I would like to be honest here and say that I really dislike the use of comments on flickr for the promotion of photostreams, groups, 'awards' and the like so do tend to delete comments that have those in. If I do remove your comment for this reason please understand it's not personal. I did experiment with a couple of the award groups when that phenomenon first started but quickly realised it really was not something I wanted to get involved with at all. If you like that sort of thing then have fun with it by all means but please realise there are a lot of people on flickr who don't use the site in that way and it can be quite offensive to have group adverts and animated pictures plastered all over comments to your photos.

"Paul is the perfect kind of guy to have as a flickr contact. For a start, his photographs are always interesting and often wonderful, and browsing his photostream can be a real pleasure. But more than that, he is a helpful and considerate member of the flickr community, and someone who I've often relied on for help and technical details to do with wildlife photography."
