Paul Cook Photography. Get yours at bighugelabs.com/flickr

Hi, and thanks for visiting my Flickr page! I hope you enjoy browsing the photo's i have uploaded.

I've always had a love for photography and art. Ever since i was a kid i used to use art as an escape and release for all my frustrations and worries, and its stuck with me throughout my life.

Photography took its first grip of me when i was still at school, when i bought my first SLR (manual focus, manual controls and even manual winding! - A great way to learn and i would recommend to any photographer who learned on digital to try it out! Its an eye opener!!!) and learned how to work in the darkroom, but it was years later when i finally decided to go digital that my love for photography went to wole new levels.

Since i joined Flickr in 2007, i have experimented with a lot of different techniques and subjects as i have gradually developed and fine tuned my style. I was once the guy who would only photograph a mountain or a wild animal, but these days i'm experimenting with digital art, alternative model shoots, urban photography and everything in between.

Life is too short to be pigeon holed, and i'd love for my art to live on longer than me...

I have a lot more images on flickr than the 200 that my photostream currently shows. If you would like to see the rest of them, well, you're just going to have to do a bit of searching (or buy me a new pro account, lol)

If any local(ish) photographers want to discuss locations, or even share petrol money/meet up for shoots then just drop me a line.

If anyone would like to use any of my images found on these pages, please do the decent thing and contact me first, as many of them are currently available as high quality prints elsewhere. Images are available without borders/frames on request. All images are available to purchase as prints (various sizes/finishes available). Please contact me for details.

Lets face it, if you like my work enough to steal it (as certain 'authors' seem to do), then surely a friendly email asking permission is a lot less hassle than a copyright infringement case? Its nice to be included in books/magazines/newspapers/etc, but its nicer to know about it!

Thanks again

Paul

Hee Haw But A Number says:

"When I first started on flickr, I searched for my local area, and more than often than not, it would be one of Pauls pictures that showed up.

I've tried to emulate Pauls work on many occasions, just to see if 'I could' so to speak, however, having met him, he's given me the confidence to really forge my own style (if there is one)

thanks paul, your captures are top notch and deserve the praise they recieve."

"I can normally spot Paul's photos sraight away in my contacts. They are always cleverly composed and technically superb. Paul has a real style of his own that is instantly recognisable. He often captures the atmosphere of scene, especially his landscapes of the Campsie Fells."

"Paul's work shows how in touch he is with his subject, they almost come alive at times as you look at them. Paul's use of light and shade shows a very high understanding of their qualities and how to get the best from them.

I would recommend everyone to spend time and look at his work as it will be amaze and inspire you in equal quantities. On top of all this he's a nice guy and deserves some of your time & attention

    Enjoy"

    "Paul est un photographe exceptionnel.
Ses images sont impressionnantes et j'aime beaucoup celles qui produisent un effet magique et mystérieux. En même temps, j'adore celles qui s'arrêtent sur un détail et révèlent la grandeur des petites choses.
Il est toujours très gentil avec ses commentaires et j'en suis très reconnaissante.
Un vrai plaisir de regarder son photostream!"
