  "The photography of Patti Farfan is multifaceted. When she shoots a person, she expertly records a moment of his/her life. Her portraits of faces express more feeling than words ever can. When she shoots an inanimate object, she finds the beauty in casual arrangements. Images of random beer bottles are given just as much respect as pictures of budding flower-tops. Every picture that she takes is backed by a strong sense of composition and an obvious technical know-how. She knows line: flickr.com/photos.... And she is a master of color: flickr.com/photos....
  
  Her photographs of people, however, often result in her strongest images. At a live performance of a rock show, she moves past the theatrics and instead captures a glimpse of an individual lost to his/her passions: flickr.com/photos.... When she turns the camera around, she finds just as much stimulus on the other side of the stage. Her crowd shots exhibit thousands of faces w/ thousands of stories. (This picture of Gavin Degraw fans illustrates the point: flickr.com/photos.... The right side of the image, a lone woman, distracted and somber, works against the left side, a smiling crowd, anxious and enthusiastic. The positioning of the two builds a push/pull relationship that is fascinating and thought-provoking.)
