I am retired from both an Air Force flying career and an Urban Land Use Planning career. I am currently exploring Yosemite National Park and environs. Primarily this includes landscapes but I don't like to place limits and if a human subject or a coyote present themselves I of course oblige.

Living less than two hours from the Arch Rock Entrance to the Park I can be very responsive to changing light and weather conditions.

The screen name Shortlens is a reference to my lens of choice: a Sigma 10-20 mm f3.5. It obviously falls short (pun intended) when targeting more distant subjects, but more significantly it forces me to get close to my subjects. Fortunately the wildlife in Yosemite have no particular problem with human proximity.

I also have a preference for smaller apertures and longer exposures, a throwback to film and 4x5 days. I invite your comments on my work, critical and otherwise. although shooting since 1955 (hey, I was only 8) and never professionally, I'm still learning, so I'd like to hear your comments. Thanks. Oh, and by the way, did I mention that I invite your comments and constructive criticism?
