Why Pentax K1000 Gal?
Although I currently use a Canon DSLR or Canon PowerShot...and before that had a basic Kodak digital, my very first serious camera was a Pentax K1000. Completely manual. No bells and whistles whatsoever!
I think I complained when my dad (our resident family shutterbug), suggested this as the best way to start AND learn the ropes while discovering how a camera actually works, but he was absolutely correct. Using that K1000 taught me a lot. So that's what I use for my flickr handle!
While digital photography is great, I don't go much for photographs that are maniupulated to a great degree on the computer. Special effects are fun once in a while and a nice break. But working to get the best shot you can under the circumstances at hand will yield the best results.
