I am a writer and a musician, but I have never been a visual artist. These images are part of a writing project; there's a city in my head that wants to be written, and I've been walking around my own city, taking pictures of the places where the two overlap.

I do this mostly for my own pleasure and inspiration; I certainly have no pretensions to being an accomplished photographer. Some of these images are here because I think they're beautiful. Some are just things I recognize from another place, things that spark the story in me.

All my photos are shot with a Lumix DMC-FZ8 unless otherwise indicated.

Regarding groups:
While I'm flattered by any and all invitations, I'm not likely to join groups that:
1) Have lots of rules IN ALL CAPS-- Because yelling on the internet is rude.
2) Require a certain number of comments-- I enjoy getting and giving feedback, and comment often on pictures that interest me, but I also think that comments are generally more sincere and more interesting when they're not being made to fill a quota.

The interests listed below are some of my photographic obsessions.
